SNOW PHOTOS 2 MARCH 2018

Large stretches of drifting across the road from Cross Hills to Lothersdale have made the road impassable, overnight and this morning, for the majority of vehicles. This coupled with a lack of gritting on all roads leading to, and out of the village has meant that the school had no choice but to close again today.

Many cars continue to be abandoned this morning as the snow drifts are over 2ft deep in places in the middle and sides of the road.

As I left the village local farmers had begun to start to use tractors and snow ploughs to move some of the snow on the road into Cross Hills but the strong winds were continuing to blow much of it around.

I am very frustrated that we have unable to open today and once again I apologise if the school closure, due to the severe weather conditions, has caused any inconvenience.

Class teachers from Classes 2, 3 and 4 have posted learning activities for today on their class pages and we would request that the children access them and have a go at completingĀ them today orĀ over the weekend as possible.

Best wishes

Mrs J Robinson
