We have a wide range of extended schools activities, which take place afterschool and at lunchtimes at different times throughout the year.
Families are requested to choose the extended schools activities they wish to participate in prior to the new term starting. The full timetable of extended schools provision is available on the school website. Our extended schools activities may include:
Residential Visits
Residential visits are undertaken in Years 4, 5 and 6. We take the Year 4 children on a two night residential visit during the summer term with the aim of developing independence and social skills.
Years 5 and 6 participate in an outdoor adventurous activity week. The location of these weeks alternate annually. Both help us provide areas of study difficult to cater for in school and also have considerable social benefits.
Instrumental Tuition
Children from Year 2 upwards have the opportunity to play a musical instrument. At present recorder, keyboard, violin, guitar, percussion, woodwind, brass and vocal training take place in school. Most of these children are members of our very successful school orchestra.
Football
Weekly coaching is provided by a former professional football player. There is a charge for this activity.
STEM Club
Exploring science, technology, engineering and maths in a really fun way.
Gardening Club
Weekly meetings provide green-fingered activities for Years 2 to 6.
Drama Club
Weekly sessions for children to engage in speaking and listening activities and develop their confidence to ole play and perform creatively in front of others.
Running Club
Cross country running for our budding distance and fell runners.
Supersports
Lots of exciting sporting activities for our younger year groups.
