SNOW PHOTOS 1 MARCH 2018

Determined to try and open school today, I made the journey up to Lothersdale at 6:45am only to find that I could not get any further than the cross roads.

The road conditions from Cross Hills have deteriorated and the strong wind conditions are now causing snowdrifts to cover large patches of the road and snow blizzards, that make it very difficult to see where you are driving (and what you are driving into!).

Many cars have been abandoned at the crossroads where the snow drifts were well over 1ft deep in places in the middle and sides of the road.

The only vehicles that passed me were Landrover Defenders, one of which was Mr Schepesi who informed me that no gritting or clearing of snow had taken place on the brow and hills down into Lothersdale.

Once again I apologise if the school closure, due to the severe weather conditions, has caused any inconvenience.

Best wishes

Mrs J Robinson.
