Stone Age Diet

For most people, the idea of finding old human poo is disgusting and the idea of dissecting it and looking at it carefully through a microscope is even worse! But this is exactly what some archaeologists do and what we have done in Class 3. Poos are called ‘coprolites’ by archaeologists. Coprolites can include loads of evidence to help us understand what people ate in the past, and how they prepared their food. This week the children have been true archaeologists and disceted their own fake coprolites to find out what some Stone-Age people ate. With lots of funny faces and excitement, all the children got stuck in and enjoyed dissecting to find out more. They all now know how some archaeologists work to find out more about the past as well as what was eaten during the Stone Age.
