The Fairtrade Friends team and some additional members from Year 6, joined forces with Christ Church to hold a village coffee morning on Wednesday 2nd March. What a fabulous turn out we had! Thank you to the children and parents who donated the delicious cakes and bakes to sell. During the coffee morning, the children from school spoke really clearly and confidently to adults from the community about what Fairtrade is and why it is so important to buy Fairtrade items. A big thanks to Jarvis, who kept some younger children entertained by playing Fairtrade games and being a good sport being dressed as a banana too! Teagan excelled with her selling skills and sold all of the squares for a charity game. Again a big well done to Isla’s mum for winning the Fairtrade honey.
The children’s creative skills were put to the test this week as Mrs Knight wanted to create a Fairtrade selfie sign. A huge thanks to Oscar, Charlotte, Jarvis and Tilly who created the Fairtrade sign collage. The Fairtrade team took it in turns to help Liz run her stall, which was really popular too. On offer were a full range of Fairtrade items including Easter eggs, socks and purses.
In total, we have raised an amazing £180 to be shared equally between Traidcraft and Nyakabungo Girls' School. A huge thank you to everyone involved today.
