Welcome to Lothersdale Primary School

A warm welcome to all visiting our website.

With a calm, friendly and family ethos Lotherdale Primary is a small school in the village of Lothersdale that recognises that children have individual needs and aims to ensure that every child reaches their full potential.

Our achievements have been recognised by a number of relevant agencies:

In January 2006, October 2008 and July 2014 OFSTED judged our school to be outstanding with no significant areas for improvement. A further RE subject inspection in April 2008 judged our school to be outstanding in this area of the curriculum. A copy of the OFSTED reports can be downloaded from the School Performance Information section of this website.

In 2009 we gained the prestigious Arts Mark Gold Award for the second time. In 2010 we gained the Dyslexia Quality Mark, the highest level of The Inclusion Quality Mark, the Enhanced Healthy Schools Status, Global Schools Award Level 1 and Fairtrade Status. We now renew our Fairtrade Status annually. In 2011 we achieved the Silver Eco Schools award and then in 2013 we achieved Green Flag Status. In September 2016 we achieved the Gold School Games Mark award for the second successive year.

On 1st August 2015 Lothersdale School chose to convert to an Academy, forming a Multi Academy Trust (MAT) with Askwith Primary School and Bilton Grange Primary School, Harrogate known as Yorkshire Collaborative Academy Trust. As a MAT the three schools believe in the principles of collaborative practice in the school-led system as the most effective way to raise achievement and foster life-long learning for children and adults.
