MARRICK PRIORY ~ DAY 2

We've all woken up early this morning - must be all the excitement!

Everyone was asleep last night by midnight, but with such an early start there's going to be some tired little people by lunchtime! At the moment everyone is starting to get up and dressed ready for sandwich making and breakfast at 7:45am. The weather is looking great, so we're all eager to find out what activities we'll be completing today.

Gosh the food here is good! Cereal and cooked breakfast of bacon, spaghetti hoops and hash browns were wolfed down and thoroughly enjoyed by us all. Then it was up and out to enjoy the beautiful weather (albeit there's a chilly wind)  and exciting activities. Lots of personal challenges were achieved with children whizzing on the zip wire over the river, reaching the top of the climbing wall, abseiling down the bell tower, using a real bow and arrow and jumping off the leap of faith!  All the staff were very proud of everyone for having a go and trying their best.

Now to the food again - it has been commented by the staff at Marrick that the children are really good eaters - there was no waste last night! Tonight's delights were: fruit juice, homemade steak pie, mashed potato, cabbage, carrots and French beans - followed by rice pudding! Lots of children went back for seconds!

Evening activities will be postcard writing and the nightline, which involves small teams of children, blind-folded, having to find their way around a roped course outside in the grounds! - it will be great fun.

Fingers crossed for a slightly earlier bedtime tonight!

Anyway we're all having a really great time!

Sending big hugs home

From everyone at Marrick xxx
