Eshton Grange Day 1

What a fantastic first day we have had! We arrived promptly at Eshton at 10:00am, eager and excited to get our trip started. We met Mark and Otis the pug and had an introduction talk, then it was time to make our beds! There were various strategies to put on duvet covers with different levels of success as I’m sure you can imagine, but in the end all the children worked well as a team and got the job done. Before lunch we went on a short walk, using different leaves we found to identify the trees and flowers on our route. Everybody enjoyed their packed lunches and they were soon finished. The sun came out just at the right time for our first swim in the pool. The hour flew by and we then played some football and on the park for the rest of the afternoon to carry on enjoying the sun and our surroundings. Time for tea. On the menu was tomato soup for starters, jacket potatoes, cheese, beans and sausages for our main and then we had the treat of strawberries and ice cream for pudding. It’s safe to say that there were lots of empty plates after our days activities so far! After tea we played a few games of bingo before our evening swim. Another great swim done with lots of floats and lots of fun. We are now all having quick showers and getting ready for bed. All the children are in really high spirits having had a great first day and looking forward to spending the first night at Eshton. Signal isn’t very good for uploading pictures, more will come at the end of the week.
